I am excited to begin pursuing a PhD in Plant Biology this Fall 2019. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Howard University in 2018. During my undergrad, I completed a thesis with Dr. Janelle Burke regarding sex determination and resource allocation in Rumex acetosa and related species. Before coming to NC State, I spent some time as a Plant Science intern with The Walt Disney World Company. During my time there, I grew a deeper interest for crops and communicating science to the public. My research interests include how biotechnology can be used to improve sustainability and what impact that has on other facets of society. In my free time, I love dancing and completing puzzles.
